(PRWEB) January 07, 2016 -- With what many call a ‘game-changing 92.3% efficiency’, the Franklin-Thomas Company has created a unique zero-cogging permanent magnet 9 phase generator. Independently tested and proven at the U.S. Dept. of Energy test site, Advanced Energy in North Carolina, this generator may dramatically reduce the cost of electricity everywhere and create thousands of jobs both in the U.S. and overseas, according to the company. (Actual report available) It may also improve your car’s mileage. A side benefit may be limitless clean water and a cleaner environment.

We want to bring low cost energy and jobs to everyone.

The Franklin-Thomas Company, a small organization from Central Florida, initially designed vertical axis wind/water turbines. However, the president of the company and generator inventor, Joe Shepard, said they could not find a suitable generator for their turbine. To solve the issue of the generator, the company had to design their own. Shepard said he worked for nearly 7 years getting the generator design right. In getting it ‘right’, Shepard made a generator with virtually no wearable parts save for a pair of ceramic bearings. He could then warranty the generator for long periods.

The generator design was so successful; the generator became the focus of their business. Like many inventions, however, the company had difficulties getting their work to market. The solution came from an unlikely place. Carino Energy Renewables Ltd., a company from the island of Nevis in the Caribbean, was looking for a way to reduce power bills and create much needed jobs in the West Indies.

Jorn Eivik, the company’s CEO, looked at the generator, examined the test reports, and decided to work with Shepard’s company. Eivik saw this would be a way to help the people of the islands. Together the two companies installed a test system in Nevis. While driving the generator with wind power worked some of the time what was needed was continuous power.

To solve that problem, they attached a small natural gas engine to the generator. The generator charged a battery bank and the battery bank ran the inverter. The inverter, in turn, powered a property managed by the company on the island with 120 VAC. There were surprises in store, however.

They expected the engine to run the generator a long time in order to charge the battery bank. Instead, the people were shocked by how quickly the battery bank was fully charged. The engine shut off and the battery bank quietly kept the lights on for hours. Once the battery bank was drained, the engine restarted and the process repeated. The cost to produce hours of electricity was limited to the small amount of gas used by the engine in charging the battery bank. This was the efficiency Jorn Eivik of Carino Energy Renewables Ltd. wanted.

Soon nations throughout the West Indies were clamoring for the low cost electricity this generator testing promised. They also saw this as a product their citizens could produce and export. Antigua was the first to deliver signed proof of their interest. More are following quickly. Shepard suggested they form the West Indies Manufacturing Association to build and export his generators.

Now African nations are looking at the possibility of taking gigawatt systems for low cost electricity where none currently exists. A pilot program is also being planned for limitless clean, sweet water from the Mediterranean using Shepard’s water turbines in a unique way.

The plan Carino Energy Renewables Ltd. is offering these countries is simple: No cost installation of the electrical generating equipment. An agreement to buy the electrical power called a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) is signed. The country owns 51% of the operation in their country and receives 51% of the profits from the sale of the electrical power.

For those individuals wanting reliable backup power or just want to get off the grid completely, Shepard is planning to offer inexpensive leases where allowed for his 10 and 20 kW continuous-duty standalone systems. The lessee would supply the propane or natural gas. Testing shows these units would significantly lower power bills.

Adding to this, Shepard developed methods for distributed power in rural locations not connected to a grid using the same Carino agreement. A self-contained system can be installed in a location for a small installation fee. The system produces the needed electrical power for the customer. Using special wireless communications and a powerful embedded computer, the system transmits the amount of power used to a central location. The customer is automatically sent a bill. Further, the wireless communication system can immediately notify service personnel if the unit needs servicing. The generator’s computer software and the wireless communication can also provide Internet, cell phone, and satellite TV services.

And, Shepard is no novice with computer software. He has co-authored two books on artificial intelligence (AI) edited by Columbia University professors, was unbeaten in a Futures magazine AI contest, and was asked to write articles on his software that was shown in the Money Show in Las Vegas. This AI background is being used to enhance the efficiency of the generator’s computer technology. In simple terms, this generator may learn how to adapt to any application whether is in standby generation, an automobile, a wind turbine or almost anything else.

Franklin-Thomas Company’s technology has led to foreign countries already wanting megawatts of electrical energy. Businesses of all types, automotive manufacturers, hotels, various groups, and casinos are in active negotiations to have this advanced energy producing equipment lower their electrical bills and save energy. In addition to supplying generators, Shepard has arranged for the citizens of each country to be offered training on how to self-produce his generators. This could add hundreds jobs to their economies.

While Shepard keeps the patent attorneys busy, he is accepting orders for generators from 5 kilowatts to 250 kilowatts. Test reports, videos, and other information are available on their web site.
