ACHC Launches New Accreditation for Renal Dialysis Facilities
CARY, N.C. (PRWEB) September 17, 2018 -- Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC) is pleased to announce the launch of its new Accreditation for Renal Dialysis Facilities. As a service under the ACHC Ambulatory Care Program, the Renal Dialysis Facility Accreditation has been tailored to specifically address the nuances present in facilities that treat patients with end-stage kidney disease. ACHC has applied for deeming authority with CMS in order to perform initial Medicare certification surveys, allowing new start-up facilities to more quickly bill Medicare and care for patients in that community. The CMS technical review team has determined that the ACHC Renal Dialysis Facility Accreditation application is complete and they will begin reviewing all the materials included in the application, evaluate the ACHC standards, watch how surveys are conducted and review ESRD records. Accreditation through a CMS deemed accreditor provides inclusion in the Medicare program by validating the care and services provided by each facility meet specified safety and quality standards outlined in the Medicare Conditions for Coverage (CfC).
“Because ACHC is known as an experienced thought-leader throughout the healthcare landscape, adding our expertise to Renal Dialysis is a benefit to the industry,” said Teresa Harbour, ACHC Program Director. The Renal Dialysis Facility Standards were developed collaboratively by dialysis experts committed to enhancing patient care. The ACHC standards are accompanied by interpretations which guide providers through compliance with the Medicare Conditions for Coverage (CfC). In addition, Harbour added, “ACHC has dedicated knowledgeable technical and clinical staff to assist dialysis facilities throughout the accreditation process, in order to provide the fastest route to certification.”
As an internationally recognized accreditation organization with CMS deeming authority, ACHC offers providers customized standards that are designed for the individual services rendered. ACHC Renal Dialysis Facility Accreditation Standards are written in a clear and concise manner with requirements that are relevant to daily operations.
