ACMA Announces ACTS – The First Simulation Competency Program for Case Managers
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (PRWEB) March 25, 2019 -- The American Case Management Association (ACMA) introduces Advanced Care Transitions Simulation (ACTS), a program that transforms orientation and professional development for case management teams including registered nurses, social workers and physician advisors.
ACTS is a real time application of skills and knowledge taking competency beyond knowledge and into demonstration with live patient actors and authentic settings. Participants will be validating assessment, communication, planning and collaboration skills, all of which are critical for successful care transitions. Leveraging patient scenarios effective care coordination and critical thinking will be tested.
“We are very excited to bring this one-of-a-kind simulation program to the case management industry,” said Debra McElroy MPH, RN, Senior Vice President for Practice Development and Education at the ACMA. “ACTS uniquely blends an online educator and trainee platform with multiple delivery method options, including simulation and other interactive formats. While this is a staff development resource, ultimately it benefits healthcare teams, patients and families.”
Designed for both new and experienced case managers, participants will experience live patient scenarios which cross care settings and offer the opportunity to collaborate in teams and submit assessments and documentation for evaluation.

In addition to direct participant feedback by onsite facilitators, ACMA will provide individual and organizational reports for follow-up and benchmarking opportunities.
