VIRGINIA BEACH, Va., May 15, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Clay was born and raised in the Hampton Roads region of Southeastern Virginia. After enlisting in the Navy Reserves, he attended Old Dominion University "ODU" in Norfolk, Virginia. While at ODU, Clay taught sailing at the Norfolk Naval Station and worked as a boat builder for Hines-Farley Yachts in Suffolk, Virginia.
After obtaining his bachelor's and master's degrees in literature from ODU in 2003, Clay completed a graduate business program at Harvard University. In 2007, Clay received his J.D. from the Shepard Broad College of Law at Nova Southeastern University in Florida. During and after law school, Clay worked for a law firm in Beijing where he participated in over a billion dollars' worth of international transactions.
Since returning to his home state in 2008, Clay has practiced in various fields of law, including insurance defense, civil litigation, construction, landlord tenant, domestic, bankruptcy, personal injury, and Workers' Compensation. Clay has participated in over three billion dollars' worth of litigation during his career as an attorney. He has also served on various non-profit boards for the arts and preschool education, and supports ODU athletics.
