Apex Learning Expands CTE Programs of Study
SEATTLE (PRWEB) July 02, 2018 -- Apex Learning, a recognized pioneer and innovator in online learning for secondary education, announces new Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses that expand the programs of study available. According to recent research from Daniel Kreisman and Kevin Stange, Vocational and Career Tech Education in American High Schools: The Value of Depth Over Breadth, CTE participation is associated with higher wages when students pursue upper-level CTE courses, or courses within a sequence beyond the introductory class. The findings indicate that each additional year of upper-level vocational coursework is associated with a nearly two percent wage increase.
For more than twenty years, Apex Learning has partnered with school districts nationwide to implement digital learning programs to keep students on track for graduation and prepare them for their next step. Apex Learning’s programs of study, in areas such as general management, human resources management and administrative support, provide three-year course pathways that equip students for jobs where there is high demand for workers and provide students with the ability to earn the industry credentials employers are seeking.
“By focusing on full CTE programs of study, we are preparing high school students to earn certifications that lead to real-world skills and higher wage jobs they can pursue immediately upon graduation,” said Cheryl Vedoe, CEO of Apex Learning.
