Armijo Will Develop and Manage New System Level Architectures for the Aerospace and Defense Sectors Using Avalanche's MRAM Technology
FREMONT, Calif., June 1, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Avalanche Technology, the leader in next generation MRAM technology, announced today that it has expanded its Research and Development team, with the addition of Paul Armijo as Chief Technical Officer for Aerospace & Defense. In this role, Armijo will be responsible for developing and managing new system level architectures that utilize the inherent benefits of Avalanche's MRAM technology in the rapidly growing aerospace and defense sectors.
Armijo is a 20+ year veteran of the aerospace & defense, semiconductor and software industries, with a long history of leveraging commercial innovations for advancing and realizing next generation architectures for government, military, and commercial customers. He has a proven track record of managing and developing complex next-generation technologies and systems. This results-driven approach has built deep customer relationships, further fueled by the expertise necessary to help customers solve their system engineering challenges using advanced technologies and capabilities.

Throughout his career, Armijo has held various leadership roles, as he blazed the trail for flagship programs and technology developments to enable next-generation payloads, satellites and constellations with some of the most recognized companies, including General Dynamics Mission Systems, Ball Aerospace, Spectrum Astro (now Northrop Grumman Space Systems), Aeroflex (now CAES), GSI Technology, and Motorola (now NXP).
Most recently, Armijo was Director of the A&D Business Sector at GSI Technology, in Sunnyvale, California. In this role, he helped GSI transition their memory devices into the aerospace market, while also enabling the ecosystem and infrastructure required for the transition from traditional non-Neumann processor architecture to GSI's compute-in-memory architecture.
