Avid Collector Announces His Search For Original 1968 Dail W Beeghly Jimi Hendrix Merriweather Post Pavilion Concert Posters
SAN FRANCISCO (PRWEB) January 04, 2019 -- Avid collector, Andrew Hawley from Vintage Rock Posters, announces his search for original Dail W. Beeghly Jimi Hendrix Merriweather Post Pavilion concert posters. Beeghley produced stunning psychedelic concert posters for some of the leading 1960s rock bands. The Hendrix Merriweather concert was held on August 16, 1968. According to Hawley, “The Merriweather Post Pavilion was built in 1967 and was part of a planned community near Columbia, Maryland. It is home to the National Symphony Orchestra. Ironically, it evolved into one of the top rock concert venues in the U.S. The Hendrix concert was well received since the band had the number one song that summer. It rained hard and Hendrix invited the audience to crowd under the covered pavilion.”
Hawley adds, “Beeghly was a leading poster artist in the 1960s. His concert poster layouts featured artist head shots, psychedelic fonts and generous use of DayGlo colors to make the posters pop and stand out. The Hendrix poster is 22 x 28 inches and printed on thick cardboard. Beeghly also produced a poster for the Hendrix’s Atlanta show the following day. His produced concert posters for James Brown, Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, Janis Joplin, Rolling Stones, and Bob Dylan.” For examples of Jimi Hendrix psychedelic concert posters, go to http://www.vintageconcertposterbuyer.com/psychedelic/jimi_hendrix.html.
