Avid Collector Seeks Original Bob Dylan World Tour 1966 Boxing Style Concert Posters
SAN FRANCISCO (PRWEB) July 26, 2018 -- Avid concert poster collector, Andrew Hawley from Vintage Rock Posters, is seeking original Bob Dylan World Tour 1966 boxing style concert posters. The Bob Dylan World Tour 1966 was from February to May. According to Hawley, “The tour was transformative for Bob Dylan. Dylan had expanded from his acoustic roots and took up the electric guitar at the 1965 at the Newport Folk Festival. The tour was in the US, Canada and Europe. Each show was split between acoustic and electric sessions. Dylan’s electric band was the Hawks which evolved into The Band. Dylan even changed his show appearance. Gone was the James Dean look. He started to wear dark suits, with double breasted suite coats and matching pants. On top of that he wore Beatle boots to finish off his new rocker look. Dylan showed his artistic genius by going to Nashville with the Hawks and recorded Blonde on Blonde with some of Nashville’s best studio musicians. Some consider this album one of the greatest of all time. What makes the tour unique is that is was filmed by director D.A. Pennebaker.”
Hawley adds, “The concert poster layout was understated and is a classic boxing style poster. It features the famous picture taken by Dan Kramer of Dylan playing a harmonic with a cigarette stuck in the harp holder. The 14 x 22 inch poster was printed by Murray Poster Printing Company of New York City. This tour blank was used for the Seattle, Norfolk, Richmond, Vancouver and Spokane shows.” For examples of Dylan boxing style posters, go to http://www.vintageconcertposterbuyer.com/boxing_style/bob_dylan.html.
