Barnstone Alumnus Shares Secrets of How Painters Achieve Color Mastery In Presentation March 9 at ArtistAngle Gallery in Frederick, MD
Meet Visiting Studio Oil Painter and Teacher Dot Bunn at Welcome Reception March 8
FREDERICK, Md., Feb. 28, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The vibrant and powerful exhibit currently at ArtistAngle Gallery, "A Celebration of Color: Myron Barnstone's Palette," didn't just happen. Each of the 22 original pieces by the late Barnstone, most of which were hidden away for nearly 50 years, were created using a very disciplined, strategic system of organizing and unifying colors.
From 1-4 p.m. Saturday, March 9, Dot Bunn, one of Barnstone's long-time students who is an internationally acclaimed oil painter, will present "A Look at Color Through the Ages," both a slide presentation and demonstration of color mixing using the Fletcher system of Color Control. She learned the process from Barnstone, and now teaches a version of the Fletcher system in her Pennsylvania classes. To reserve your space at the ArtistAngle workshop, contact Barnstone Studios at 301.788.6241.
From 5:30 - 8 p.m. March 8, the evening before the class, Barnstone Studios honors Bunn with a Welcome Reception at ArtistAngle. Light refreshments and a colorful cocktail created specifically for the event, the 'Fletcher Fling,' will be served.
Bunn created two color keys for a pair of Barnstone paintings in the Celebration of Color exhibit to demonstrate how the Fletcher system allows an artist to boldly combine contrasting hues while creating a harmonious and aesthetically pleasing painting. Bunn's work is in private collections and galleries across the country. She has won dozens of awards in both southeastern regional and national juried art exhibitions.
