Beatriz Oliveira Acknowledged for Tech Innovation and Advocacy for Women in STEM: Receives Microsoft Power Women in Tech Award for Portugal
LISBON (PRWEB) June 27, 2023 -- Today, Beatriz Oliveira, BindTuning founder, and CEO, was recognized by Microsoft as a Microsoft Power Women in Tech Awards winner in Europe… These awards were created to recognize and support all women of the Microsoft partners ecosystem in every country in Europe, that are accomplishing new goals in the industry and that deeply invested in the inclusion and diversity themes. Announced in March, these awards received more than 150 nominations in 11 countries. Beatriz was recognized as the winner, representing women in tech from Portugal.
Microsoft MVP, entrepreneur, speaker, and visionary in the web design industry, Beatriz Oliveira is responsible for one of the leading platforms for creating productive, efficient, and collaborative workplaces for Microsoft 365, BindTuning. Before creating BindTuning, Beatriz Oliveira co-founded CentralBiz, which specialized in Microsoft services and even worked in the consultation company Ernst & Young. For the last 4 years, she has served as President of the IAMCP Portugal (International Association of Microsoft Channel Partners) and is also a Microsoft Regional Director since 2019.
For the past 15 years, Beatriz Oliveira has been sharing her technical and design knowledge in the development of innovative UX solutions for Microsoft technologies as a sought after speaker at various international events. Not only she’s a strong supporter of women in technology but also, she’s actively involved in CTEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) education for young people, organizing monthly programming events for children at the BindTuning offices.
“I feel incredibly honored for this recognition. I’m so grateful to all the extraordinary women that made me believe in my abilities giving me the courage to keep going. You inspire me every day,” says Beatriz Oliveira, BindTuning founder and CEO.
For Joana Pires, Director Partner Business Development and Go to Market, Microsoft Western Europe: “The equal representation of women in the technology industry is a topic that affects all businesses. There is a series of studies that demonstrate that diverse teams are more innovative and efficient. However, currently, less than a quarter of technology positions in Europe are occupied by women.”
“When questioned, only 21% of women believe they can succeed in the technology industry. Therefore, we need to change this perception if we want to collectively address these issues and ensure that Europe continues to innovate at a rapid pace. We created this awards program to provide career advancement opportunities for women who thrive in the technology industry – and, equally important, to inspire all women in this sector,” she adds.
In addition to joining the esteemed Microsoft Power Women in Techs community, the winners will have the exclusive opportunity to participate in the Women Leaders Executive program, a personalized initiative developed and led by Jennifer Petriglieri, Associate Professor of Organizational Behavior at INSEAD.
