Two Industry Veterans Join Las Vegas-Based Design-Led Development Firm As It Expands Its Senior Leadership Team
LAS VEGAS, Nov. 12, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Blue Heron, a design-led development firm that accentuates aspirational living through personalized home experiences, announced two strategic hires: David Kim has joined the firm as BH Elite Division President, overseeing Blue Heron's custom design-build division, and Dan Martin has joined as BH Nexus Division President, responsible for Blue Heron's exclusive boutique communities. The addition of these seasoned senior executives will position Blue Heron for further growth as the company expands its footprint and unveils boundary-pushing new projects in Las Vegas, California, and beyond.
David brings extensive experience gained from a career that spans architecture, construction management, and real estate private equity. As BH Elite Division President at Blue Heron, he will provide strategic direction and oversight to the firm's custom design-build division and will collaborate with Blue Heron's Executive Leadership Team. The authority in modern residential design-build, BH Elite designs personify and amplify the lives of Blue Heron's clients by reimagining their home experience through BH Vision, the firm's design philosophy.

Prior to joining Blue Heron, David was Vice President, Preconstruction at AECOM Tishman, overseeing large-scale and complex project start-up for developers and operators, as well as construction management of significant urban projects in California and Florida.
Before that, as Senior Vice President of Design and Construction at AECOM Capital, David built the West Region team, growing the portfolio to $4 billion with multifamily residential and hospitality ground-up projects, such as the Pendry by Montage Hotel and Residences in West Hollywood, Calif.
As AECOM Tishman First Vice President, Kim served as Head of Condo Buyer Customization, Residential Penthouse Design and Construction, and Preconstruction of all branded hotels and whole-ownership condos at MGM Mirage's $9.2 billion CityCenter Las Vegas project, including the Mandarin Oriental (now Waldorf Astoria), Veer Towers, and Vdara Hotel & Spa.
David holds a Master's degree in Real Estate Development from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Cambridge, Mass., and a Bachelor's degree in Architecture and Building Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, N.Y. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects and the Urban Land Institute.
Dan Martin brings decades of experience in both domestic and international business settings to his new role as BH Nexus Division President at Blue Heron. The BH Nexus division oversees development of the firm's exclusive boutique communities from a BH Vision-curated program. Homes under BH Nexus are planned, programmatic and designed to create harmony between the unique personalities of Blue Heron clients and environments of their communities.

Prior to joining Blue Heron, Martin held senior leadership positions with Discovery Land Company, Scottsdale, Ariz., most recently serving as Vice President of Operations for Baker's Bay in the Bahamas. He joined Discovery Land Company in 2016 as Vice President of Construction for Gozzer Ranch in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.
Martin also served as Executive Vice President at MXI Corporation, Reno, Nev., where he successfully managed international business expansion into 34 countries and oversaw the company's international operations in 41 countries.
Prior to his tenure at MXI Corporation, Martin served as Division President of the Reno Division, where he oversaw all construction operations and achieved a #1 national ranking in customer satisfaction. He earlier held the position of Division President of the Las Vegas Division, an executive role responsible for negotiating land purchases, site development and infrastructure improvements.
A Vegas native, Martin has a degree in Business Management from the University of Nevada Las Vegas.
