Over the course of his lifetime, Garrison managed to visit every state and find something thoughtful or funny (sometimes both) to write about each one. The more he traveled, the more he realized that the message he wanted to share with America was a simple one: "our nation's greatness lies in the wonderful diversity of its people, its geography and its history, and the myriad ways that they comprise what we and the world knows as the USA."
