The tale is told by Angie, a 13-year-old girl, who draws readers in and holds their interest throughout the pages. It is clear from the prelude that the Wallis family will make it to Sea Lure — but that is only the beginning of their struggles.

About the Author
Darlene Weir and her family have enjoyed recreational boating on the very real Sea Lure for many years. While she has enjoyed her career in hotel management, tourism and office administration, Weir is a true adventurer on sea and land. She and her husband, Gordon, have a passion for kayaking, sailing and cruising the Pacific Northwest, and together they have also built a farm from scratch. In addition, she has served 12 years on city council in Courtenay on Vancouver Island. She lives with her family within the dikes surrounding Richmond, British Columbia. “Cascadia: An Epic Journey of Survival” is the first novel of a trilogy that she is working on.
