Boston Attorney, Business Leader Launches Portside Capital Solutions
Daniela Messina combines her legal, business development and investor relations expertise to provide results and growth for corporate, private equity and family office clients
NEWBURYPORT, Mass., May 11, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Accomplished Boston attorney and private equity executive, Daniela Messina, has founded Portside Capital Solutions to provide strategic counsel to private equity funds, single and multi-family offices, emerging funds, independent sponsors and corporate clients.
Messina is an accomplished attorney and executive with a varied background in private equity and family offices, government, politics, investor relations, business development and corporate and crisis communications. She combines her wide-ranging experiences across many industries with a professional network of national leaders in the public and private sector to produce effective results for clients to help them achieve their goals.

Daniela currently serves as a board member of the Association for Corporate Growth, Boston Chapter. ACG is the premier M&A dealmaking community with a global network of middle market professionals. Daniela is active in the ACG Boston Family Office Committee and Co-Chair of the Women's Connection Committee. She also serves on the Corporate Board Committee of The Boston Club, one of the largest organizations for women executive and professional leaders committed to elevating women into leadership positions.
For nearly a decade, Daniela served as Director of Business Development for Nixon Peabody's private equity and family office practice where she led several significant initiatives including the strategic rebranding and oversight of the firm's deal sourcing referral program. In addition, she developed and launched the firm's national family office initiative where she established strategic partnerships, facilitated deal sourcing introductions for family offices, among other value-add offerings. Daniela also launched a Women in Private Equity effort in Boston and New York City and continues to help make progress with helping advance efforts of women and minorities in the private equity and family offices industry. In addition, she also led the business development and investor relations efforts at a private credit and structured equity fund.
Daniela began her career in investor relations for a high-tech PR agency and a global provider of analytical instruments and services. Daniela has done impactful and transformational work in both the private and public sector. She served as Deputy General Counsel for the Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation (OCABR) where she worked closely with OCABR agencies including the Division of Banks, Division of Insurance, Division of Professional Licensure, Division of Standards and the Department of Telecommunications and Cable.
In addition, Daniela was appointed by Massachusetts Governors Mitt Romney and Deval Patrick to the Salem State University Board of Trustees. She also served as a member of the Massachusetts Regional Competitiveness Council for the Northeast Region. In addition to her corporate, legal, and political experience, she held leadership roles and has been active with the Women's Bar Association of Massachusetts, Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce including their Women's Network Advisory Board and Executive Leadership Institute and Bentley University Executive Club.
Daniela is passionate about closing the opportunity gap for women in the workplace to help them advance and thrive. She is dedicated to the success of women-owned businesses and volunteered for numerous non-profits including mentoring women and minority law students through Suffolk University Law School's Alumni Mentoring Program and pro bono legal services through the Massachusetts Women's Bar Foundation, Family Law Project. Daniela has been recognized for her community service and outstanding leadership efforts including Small Business Nominee for the North of Boston Businesswomen of the Year Award and the Massachusetts Women's Political Caucus prestigious Wonder Woman Award.
Daniela graduated from Bentley University and received her Juris Doctorate from Suffolk University Law School. She is a member of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Bar. In addition, she is currently enrolled in a Masters in Finance program at Bentley University.
