Butter Buds Engages Government Food Service Expert Jerry Thornton
Butter Buds Foodservice has entered into an agreement with Jerry Thornton for business development services related to government and military contracts.
RACINE, Wis., Nov. 28, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Butter Buds FoodserviceSM, the maker of well-known concentrated butter substitutes, cheese sauce mixes and pan-release butter sprays is announcing the company's new consulting agreement with Jerry Thornton. Mr. Thornton is a respected member of the government food service industry, who held a high-profile position as associate publisher of Government Food Service Magazine until earlier this year. He spent the better part of the last three decades reporting on military food service trends worldwide.
Based out of Long Island, New York, Jerry will assist Butter Buds with initiatives aimed at growing the company's business in verticals that include military food service needs domestically and internationally. Butter Buds has a long history of providing butter substitute products to the U.S. military and has modified packaging of its single serve units to gain inclusion in MREs (Meals Ready to Eat) in military theatres for more than a decade.
With Mr. Thornton's food service savvy, Butter Buds Foodservice intends to expand their offerings to the military. In addition to the company's namesake butter substitute, the food service product line includes other shelf-stable dairy derived products, such as Cheddar Buds®, Alfredo Buds®, Buttermist® and Garlic Buttermist® food and pan sprays. Last year, Butter Buds announced a new line of shaker jar seasonings that include a Buffalo sauce flavored seasoning, a cinnamon roll inspired seasoning, a cheesy garlic seasoning and cheddar taco flavored seasoning.
