CMR Molecular Imaging Announces the Installation of a Breast PET Imaging System in Egypt
CMR Molecular Imaging reached an agreement with Alfa Scan for the installation of the first high-resolution dedicated Breast PET System in Egypt.
CARLSBAD, Calif., July 11, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- CMR Molecular Imaging, a developer and manufacturer of technology solutions for high resolution diagnostic imaging, has reached an agreement with Alfa Scan, an organization specializing in medical imaging and development, to provide a Solo II™ High Resolution Breast PET Imaging (BPI) System with biopsy guidance capabilities. The transaction was closed by CMR local representative Global Technologies, a leading provider of healthcare equipment in Egypt.
The Solo II High Resolution PET system provides metabolic visualization of lesions in small body parts. Through a unique combination of gentle immobilization, advanced photonics and imaging processing, the scanner provides tomographic images with a resolution as small as 1.6 mm. The Stereo Navigator® PET Guided Biopsy Accessory, the only FDA cleared PET biopsy guidance device, confirms a biopsy path with a 3-D needle trajectory image that enables physicians to target and guide biopsy devices to obtain adequate tissues samples for pathologic evaluation.
"Our primary concern is to provide our patients with the highest possible quality of care. The incorporation of the Solo II Breast PET Imaging System will enable our physicians to solve many diagnostic problems and early detection of breast cancer, especially in women with dense breast and /or unfit for breast MRI, by providing more specific information based on molecular imaging and will help them to plan the treatment and monitoring of breast cancers" said Dr. Amr Osama Azab, Managing Director, Alfa Scan
"We at CMR are honored to have been selected by Alfa Scan as suppliers of breast PET technology that will significantly improve cancer detection and treatment for their patients" said Dr. Jenny Matsiota, CMR Molecular Imaging International Business Development Manager.
