Canadian Assistive Technology and Sunu Partner in Canadian Exclusivity Agreement
Canadian Assistive Technology is pleased and excited to enter into an Exclusivity Agreement with Sunu, Inc.and will promote, distribute and support this innovative new mobility aid for those with vision loss.
VANCOUVER, British Columbia, April 23, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Canadian Assistive Technology, one of Canada's leading distributors of assistive technology, announced today that it had signed an exclusive agreement with Sunu Inc., makers of the Sunu Band haptic mobility aid.
The Sunu Band is worn like a watch and is designed to provide additional information for a person with sight loss or blindness using a white cane or working with a guide dog. It is a discreet sensor package with haptic (vibration) feedback and includes a sonar sensor, motion sensor, digital compass and can connect via Bluetooth wireless technology to an iOS or Android phone.
The Sunu Band uses Sonar and can detect objects up to 5.5 meters away, vibrating with increasing frequency as you get closer to an object. It can also help guide people using GPS navigation apps by indicating when to turn and in which direction, can help people navigate crowded areas, can track activity for fitness purposes and is an accessible watch.
As part of the agreement, Canadian Assistive Technology will promote and distribute the Sunu Band exclusively in Canada and provide all aspects of end-user training and support.
