Charles Industries Introduces New Modular Cabinet Series for the Ultimate Flexibility in Outdoor Cabinet Deployment
Charles Industries has released a new outdoor, modular cabinet series for communications equipment deployment at cell sites, base stations, EDGE datacenters and other remote locations.
SCHAUMBURG, Ill., Aug. 17, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Charles Industries LLC, a leading provider of innovative enclosed solutions, has introduced a new line of modular outdoor cabinets to serve Wireless, MSO, Utility and Edge Datacenter markets. This highly configurable lineup of modular, environmentally protected cabinets support remotely deployed active electronics/power, passive fiber optics, and batteries.
As equipment for telecommunications infrastructure becomes smaller and more environmentally hardened, service providers have sought after enclosure solutions for outdoor deployments to reduce the overall footprint and costs associated with traditional outdoor solutions like shelters and huts. Smaller solutions can also occupy extra free space in existing structures, expanding capacity without the need to lease additional ground space.
Charles Modular Cabinets are the ultimate in flexibility for outdoor enclosure deployments. Multiple standard bays can be mixed and matched into a multitude of different configurations to suit a specific application. A modular cabinet solution can be built and shipped from the Charles' factory to the customer's desired configuration. Additional bays can be ordered separately to add in the field. Standard bay types include relay rack bays to support power, active electronics, and passive fiber management; and battery bays to support multiple strings of 12V Monoblock batteries. Options include thermal management systems for bays needing cooling, internal or external AC power panels, integrated AC-DC power systems, fiber panels, and plinths. Thermal management systems are door mounted and can be added or changed out in the event cooling needs change in the future.
Charles Modular Cabinets are offered in three different sizes (small, medium, and large) to meet different application requirements. Charles Modular cabinets are constructed of 1/8 inch thick welded aluminum and feature a durable powder coated finish.
All Modular Cabinet bays have a solar shield, front and rear access doors, rear and bottom knockout panels for cable ingress/egress, LED lights, and GFCI convenience outlets. Relay rack bays have 19/23" EIA front and rear rack rails for mounting equipment and accessories. Door swings are reversible to create a truly custom cabinet layout.
