ChenMed to Invest More Than $200 Million to Bring Affordable Concierge-Style Health Care to Philadelphia Seniors
PHILADELPHIA (PRWEB) September 19, 2018 -- ChenMed, a leading primary care provider, announced today that it will more than double its initial investment to bring affordable, concierge-style health care to Philadelphia seniors at little to no cost to patients.
Known for its high-touch care that the September American Journal of Managed Care reports reduces hospital admissions for seniors by 50%, while shrinking healthcare costs by 28% (see abstract), ChenMed will open at least 10 Dedicated Senior Medical Centers (Dedicated) in Philadelphia, investing more than $200 million locally over the next five years.
The first two of four Dedicated centers in Philadelphia celebrate multi-day grand openings this week, with hundreds of local Medicare-eligible seniors expected each day. Dedicated clinicians have been seeing patients locally for more than six weeks, and two more Dedicated Philadelphia centers will celebrate grand openings early in October.
The four new Dedicated Philadelphia medical practices, honor seniors with affordable VIP care that delivers better health. Adhering to the proven and scalable ChenMed approach to primary care, doctors at the new Dedicated centers give patients their cell phone numbers and encourage both calls and walk-in appointments whenever a patient might not be feeling well.
Plus, since Dedicated primary care physicians each focus on serving 400 patients -- instead of the national average for primary care doctors that exceeds 2,300 patients – they join their ChenMed clinical peers in annually investing an average of 189 minutes face-to-face with each patient. That’s nine times the U.S. average of just 21 minutes yearly.
