New leadership structure will support scaling the company
HAYWARD, Calif., Oct. 10, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Today, food robotics company Chowbotics introduces Rick Wilmer as its new CEO. Following exponential growth in 2019 - doubling its revenue every quarter and establishing the company as the leader in food robotics - Chowbotics is poised to scale its operations even further by bringing in a proven CEO with more than 30 years of experience to the helm.
"I was immediately drawn to Chowbotics because of its phenomenal people, innovative product, impressive financial growth, and promising outlook for the future," says Wilmer. "I am thrilled to be working at the forefront of making fresh, healthy and delicious food ubiquitously available through technology. It's an honor to be part of this team as we navigate the company into this new chapter of expansion."
Chowbotics' founder, Dr. Deepak Sekar, recruited Wilmer to Chowbotics. An inventor with 125 patents and the creator of Sally the Robot, he will assume the role of President, with responsibility for technology, products, and strategic partnerships.
"Since founding Chowbotics in 2014, my goal has been to bring fresh food to all through the proliferation of food robotics," says Sekar. "Over the past five years, the company has grown significantly, and we are delighted to bring Rick on board to bring the company closer to achieving that goal. This new leadership structure will allow me more time to focus on developing our next product, which I find quite exciting."
Wilmer's background includes a variety of dynamic roles and responsibilities that will help him provide expertise and guidance to the team at Chowbotics. He started his career in the hard disk drive industry, taking sophisticated electromechanical products to high volume production in VP of Engineering and VP of Operations roles.
