City Scavenger Provides Nonprofits and Community-Based Organizations With a Customized Fundraising Program
App Immerses Users Into a Highly Themed Outdoor Adventure Turning Cities Into a Giant Escape Room-Style Event
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., Jan. 6, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- A group of fun-loving, game-playing creatives with a combined four decades of experience creating and managing corporate events and scavenger hunts have launched City Scavenger, a smartphone app that allows nonprofits and community-based organizations to raise money, while their supporters spend a few hours together having fun and solving challenges through physically distanced outdoor escape adventures.
City Scavenger has developed an all-inclusive fundraiser-in-a-box program, allowing the organizations to stay focused on providing their services. Without any upfront costs, a step-by-step press and marketing plan with a timeline is provided. The plan includes: a press release template for local media, social media post templates, e-mail marketing templates, online ticketing platform, in-app donation task so participants can send additional donations directly to the organization, and game day tech support and event management.
The two to three hour-long programs can be customized to run in any city and usually take place in the heart of the business district to provide maximum exposure, foot traffic for local businesses, and sponsor opportunities. Sponsorship challenges can be added to the event to highlight services, products and locations of sponsors.
"Our unique scavenger hunts are perfect for fundraising events," said Steve Tishman, chief creative and event producer. "Fundraising in the time of COVID-19 has been a challenge for everyone. We handle the operational portion of the event and provide everything needed to effectively market and promote the event to the organization's supporters and followers. Our previous groups have given us 5-Star reviews on physical distancing, safety, creativity, fun, and bonding."
Working with high schools, fraternities and sororities, associations, chambers of commerce, rotary clubs, nonprofits, foundations, and arts and cultural groups, City Scavenger offers revenue sharing, providing up to 70% of the ticket revenue to the groups, which benefits the local communities.
City Scavenger immerses users in a highly themed adventures, turning their city into a giant escape room style problem-solving event. The integrated map feature of the app allows users to navigate various outdoor plazas, parks, and unique venues. Participants complete challenges, solve problems, and take memory-making photos, all while earning clues to solve the mystery.
Each program is self-started and self-guided. Teams of two to six people can be immersed in fun and challenging adventures for only $70, plus a $2.50 ticket handling fee. Teams can start anytime between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. local time and be finished by 4 p.m. Team captains must be 21 years of age.
Participants must bring a fully charged smartphone device with the City Scavenger app downloaded in advance. It's recommended to bring an extra battery boost or charger.
