Classic Turf Company Builds New Courts and Running Tracks for Two Connecticut High Schools
Classic Turf Company served as the general contractor during the reconstruction of artificial turf athletic field and running tracks at Orville Platt and Francis T. Maloney High Schools.
MERIDEN, Conn., Feb. 28, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The running tracks and athletic fields at O.H. Platt and Francis T. Maloney High Schools recently underwent major reconstruction with Classic Turf Company serving as the general contractor.
The playing surfaces at both fields were converted from natural grass to synthetic grass fields. Synthetic grass fields are more durable, require less maintenance and increase playability and provide multi sport uses.
Meanwhile, the asphalt running tracks were completely removed and replaced with a post tension concrete base. Using a patented post tension cable design from Classic Turf Company, the new state-of-the-art tracks are just the second and third of their kind installed east of the Mississippi River.
