Code Ocean Introduces Result Lineage, The Newest Feature in its Platform for Computational Research

Result Lineage offers a visual representation of the entire history of every data result generated in Code Ocean’s Digital Lab.
More than 70% of researchers have tried and failed to reproduce another scientist's experiments, and more than half have failed to reproduce their own experiments, according to a survey of 1,576 researchers conducted by Nature. In computational research, the underlying reason is often a disconnection from the original source data. As research data travels from scientist to scientist, it becomes scattered across disconnected tools and untraceable locations, such as laptops, shared S3 buckets, email, and USB drives. This precludes the ability to share data and code and can make it almost impossible to reproduce results.

Any computational step in the Result Lineage can be reproduced with the click of a button.
