Collaborators Shiprock Santa Fe & VISVIM Celebrate International Folk Art with Public Openings
SANTA FE, N.M. (PRWEB) July 06, 2018 -- Shiprock Santa Fe, Santa Fe’s premier Native American and innovative art gallery and VISVIM are pleased to announce a series of openings and artist demonstrations amid Santa Fe’s annual International Folk Art Market Weekend—beginning Thursday, July 12, thorough Sunday, July 15.
Folk art lovers will also see a 30-foot Alexander Girard fabric mural, originally designed for a bank in Chicago, installed at Shiprock Santa Fe July 6 —on view through the first week of August.
Just a year ago, Hiroki Nakamura and his wife Kelsi, the designers behind the WMV VISVIM collection, joined forces with Jed and Samantha Foutz, owners of Shiprock Santa Fe, in opening the first WMV VISVIM store in the United States in Santa Fe at 222 Shelby Street. The collection features men’s and women’s clothing, shoes, accessories and select pieces for the home, reflecting a commitment to authenticity and a respect for artisanal techniques.
In celebration of their one-year anniversary VISVIM will be hosting the Spring/Summer 19 Trunk Show by appointment only, July 13th thru July 15th and CULTIVATED ARCHETYPES: A Demonstration of Katazuri-zome
