Confluence Rivers, a Division of Central States Water Resources, Acquires Five More Missouri Water, Wastewater Systems

ST. LOUIS, May 11, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Missouri Public Service Commission today approved the purchase of five water and wastewater systems in Missouri by Confluence Rivers Utility Operating Company (Confluence Rivers), a division of Central States Water Resources (CSWR).

The systems acquired by Confluence Rivers include: Branson Cedars Resort Utility Company (Taney County), DeGuire Subdivision (Madison County), Freeman Hills Subdivision (Audrain County) Prairie Heights Water Company (Polk County), and Terre du Lac (St. Francois County). The Missouri Public Service Commission also approved a request filed by Confluence Rivers to expand its services to three more customers in Villa Ridge Subdivision (Franklin County).

Confluence Rivers and its parent company, CSWR, often acquire water systems that are dangerous — often containing dangerous pathogens unknown to customers — and quickly invest in new technologies to ensure communities have safe and reliable water resources.

One of Confluence Rivers' newest communities, Terre Du Lac, had been under Missouri Department of Natural Resources and Missouri Attorney General enforcement action since 2010. In that time, its 10,000 residents faced drinking water quality issues and wastewater management issues that Confluence Rivers intends to remedy with a planned $2.5 million infrastructure investment over the next two years.

Confluence Rivers now serves approximately 2,504 water customers and 2,395 sewer customers in Missouri. Under the new agreement, customers will receive the same rates.
