Romulo, MD of Bayview Infectious Disease Consultants in Virginia discusses viruses, health education and health awareness on Kleyne's talk radio program sponsored by Nature's Tears® EyeMist®.

Kleyne, an internationally respected new water technology researcher who has studied water and water evaporation for more than thirty years, recalls the ebola crisis that was curtailed by having the afflicted drink a gallon a day of a solution of water, salt and sugar. Kleyne believes that people everywhere are lacking common sense water education.

"We evaporate from birth," says Kleyne. "We need to remember the importance of health education. How you live is going to affect the people around you. The organ of the skin is misunderstood. You've got to make water your best friend."

Romulo agrees. "It's critical to always be hydrated," he says, "but the source of water must always be safe." Romulo earned his medical degree from the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Phillippines and completed his internal medicine residency at St. Luke's Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio and the Miriam Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island. Recipient of a fellowship from Brown University Program in Infectious Diseases, Romulo served for seven years on a committee on tuberculosis at the World Health Organization in Geneva, Switzerland. Romulo stresses the importance of getting a flu shot every year. "Flu shots provide some protection," he says, explaining that a vaccine creates antibodies that strengthen the immune system against viruses.

Romulo says that the Coronavirus is a dangerous virus. "It is not airborne," he says, "but is transmitted by touching contaminated surfaces." Romulo cautions against being around coughing people. He encourages frequent hand washing with a solution that has an 80% alcohol base. "We often touch things without thinking," Romulo says. "Be more aware!"

"There is a weak link," Kleyne says. "Patients come to doctors and don't hear about the importance of drinking enough water. There is not enough prioritizing of water in health care. It's a lack of education. I've noticed it in all the talk about Coronavirus. So far, I haven't heard anyone mention the importance of water."
