CorreLog, Inc. Partners with BMC, Adding the Mainframe Event Logging Capability of CorreLog zDefender™ into BMC Customers’ SIEM Solutions and SOCs
NAPLES, Fla. (PRWEB) August 14, 2018 -- CorreLog, Inc., the leader in multi-platform IT security event log management, today announced a strategic alliance with BMC Software Inc., a global leader in innovative software solutions with more than 10,000 customers worldwide that helps transform Forbes® Global 100 businesses into digital enterprises. The partnership allows BMC customers to receive z/OS event messages in real-time about the health of their security compliance from facilities such as RACF, CA ACF2, CA Top Secret, TCP/IP, Db2, and others into their SIEM and Security Operations Center or SOC systems. Utilizing certified and field SIEM integrations built into zDefender™, BMC clients will have a 360-degree view into their mainframe security compliance with a complete picture of privileged user activity, including all successful logins, session keyboard commands, specific data viewed and accessed, and more, all within existing InfoSec systems.
“We are thrilled that BMC has decided to bring the benefits of zDefender™ to its great customer base,” said George Faucher, CorreLog president and founder. “Going back to our initial discussions with BMC, our collective goal has been to provide up-to-the-second visibility into all activity on the mainframe related to data security and compliance, and this partnership will deliver that to BMC’s customer ecosystem right away.”
Real-time mainframe event data is rarely factored into IT security policies and processes for most Fortune Global 100 enterprises, the companies holding the largest cache of personally identifiable information (PII) and corporate/Government intellectual property. A common scenario is z/OS event data sent to the SIEM or IT SOC through FTP (or other connector) in batch reports nightly or several times a week. This strategy is not sufficient for the real-time monitoring and remediation required to stop the exfiltration of mainframe data once a breach is discovered. This was the genesis of CorreLog building zDefender™; to provide these distributed SIEM systems an easy-to-install, easy-to-use mainframe security product with real-time visualization of mainframe events through a standard web browser or other existing distributed system such as a SIEM or SOC.
“We’re pleased to be partnering with CorreLog and opening our customers’ SIEM systems and SOCs to a wealth of additional mainframe events that helps secure their data,” said David Hilbe, BMC area vice president, research & development. “We also are glad we found a partner with existing integrations to all the major SIEMs; this will be instrumental in rolling out this technology to our customers fast and with efficiency.”
CorreLog zDefender™ for z/OS
CorreLog has designed software agent-based solutions to collect and forward z/OS events to organizations’ existing distributed SIEMs or SOCs for real-time security visibility, including audit trails for compliance with PCI DSS, FISMA, the GDPR, HIPAA, IRS Pub. 1075, GLBA, SOX, ISO 27001, and other data security standards. These solutions monitor z/OS events in real time with little impact to systems resources, and roll-up z/OS security events and audit trails into a single view within an IT SOC.
