Dallas Bike Ride Returns to Dallas for Second Year
DALLAS (PRWEB) July 21, 2018 -- Dallas Bike Ride, a closed-road, recreational bicycle event that celebrates bicycling as a form of healthy living, fitness, transportation and fun, returns to Dallas this fall, inviting residents and tourists to make this a favorite Dallas tradition. The event is scheduled for Saturday, November 3, 2018 and features a 20-mile car-free bike ride throughout Dallas. Dallas Bike Ride stands out as Dallas’ largest bicycle event and the city’s only car-free bike ride.
Registration for the event opened Thursday, July 19, at http://www.dallasbikeride.com, offering registrants an opportunity to take advantage of discounted Early Bird pricing through mid-August.
The inaugural event in 2017 saw nearly 3,000 registrants. The ride is recreational in nature, encouraging people of all ages (three and up) and all biking abilities to join for a fun, joy-filled event that celebrates bicycling. Participants can choose from the full 20-mile course or a shorter 11-mile course. The event will feature an enhanced participant experience with on-course music and entertainment, as well as rest stops with snacks and water.

Now in its second year, Dallas Bike Ride expects to attract upwards of 4,000 registrants, offering a unique car-free tour of the Big D. Participants will cruise on car-free roads past some of the city’s most famous sites and through eight Dallas neighborhoods, from Downtown to Oak Lawn and the Bishop Arts District.
“The Dallas Bike Ride is a fun, family-friendly event and we look forward to the second annual ride on November 3,” said Monica Paul, Executive Director of the Dallas Sports Commission. “Local and out-of-town riders get a great perspective of our city and its different neighborhoods through the 20-mile closed-road course.”
With 100 miles of Dallas-Fort Worth bike trails and future plans that seek to create a fully interconnected and seamless bikeway system throughout the city, Dallas riders are eager for opportunities to bike on their beloved city roads, in a safe way. Dallas Bike Ride is unique in that is a bike event that raises support for better bicycling.
Event organizers are excited to announce a new partnership with the non-profit BikeDFW, a bicycle education and community engagement non-profit that works across Dallas and Fort Worth communities. Dallas Bike Ride was founded on the mission of investing in Dallas youth and future generations of Dallas bicyclists by raising support for youth bike education and programming delivered by nonprofit organizations, such as Bike DFW. A portion of proceeds from the event support Bike DFW’s mission in the community and their work teaching adults and youth to ride bikes.

Bicycle rentals are available through Richardson Bike Mart so that participants can participate even if they don’t own their own bike. Dallas Bike Ride hopes to help make bicycling more accessible to those interested but concerned people who haven’t ridden a bicycle in a long time, but remember how fun it is to bicycle with friends and family.
The Dallas Bike Ride event will conclude with a Finish Festival at City Hall Plaza with music, entertainment, food trucks and activities from the event’s founding partners the Dallas Sports Commission and Visit Dallas, Uptown Dallas, Inc., and Downtown Dallas, Inc., as well as fun things to do and giveaways from event sponsors such as Methodist Dallas, Cigna, GEICO, KIND Healthy Snacks, Red Bull, MAA Communities, and DART.

Register at http://www.dallasbikeride.com. Early Bird Registration for Dallas Bike Ride is available Thursday, July 19 through August 15. Early Bird pricing is $50 for adults or $25 for youth. Registration includes a 2018 Dallas Bike Ride water bottle, access to the 20-mile car-free course and the Rider Identification Kit with bib number, helmet sticker and bike sticker.
Regular pricing, starting at $60 for adults, begins on August 16. Kids ages 3-7 are always free to register and youth ages 8-17 are always half-price. VIP packages and group pricing are also available.
