Dean Hagen's Newly Released "Travels with Dean and Irene" Is an Exciting Travel Memoir Detailing the Author's Adventures in America, Canada, and Europe with His Wife
"Travels with Dean and Irene" from Christian Faith Publishing author Dean Hagen is a tantalizing book highlighting a selection of places the adventurous author and his wife have visited from the time of their honeymoon in the forties to Dean's first retirement in 1985, covering locations in the States, Canada, and--after prodding from Irene--a venture into Europe, each adventure replete with the world-traveler's plethora of complications.
MEADVILLE, Pa., July 4, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- "Travels with Dean and Irene": the first part of a charming married couple's travel memoir. "Travels with Dean and Irene" is the creation of published author Dean Hagen, a World War II vet from New York whose honeymoon with Irene, also from New York, began his world travels, sparking a series of vacations to various parts of the world.
Hagen shares, "Our first trip outside the United States or Canada was to Mexico City and Acapulco with friends, Lysle and Ruth Brown. Lysle seemed to know quite a lot about Mexico City, even though he had never been there. We decided to try on our own rather than with a tour company. We had no problem with the plane and hotel reservations. Then we gathered lots of information on sights to see and things to do from the library. According to the info, we should be able to get to these places using public transportation.
Everything went well with our flight, and the city looked beautiful with all the lights at our time of arrival. There was no problem with luggage or taxi to the hotel, which was very nice. By now, it was eleven thirty in the evening, so after checking in, we got a good night's rest.
Prior to our trip, we had all kinds of warning about drinking the water and certain kinds of food that could cause Montezuma's revenge. So we made sure we had bottled water and didn't eat any of the foods on our problem list."
Published by Christian Faith Publishing, Dean Hagen's new book is a delightful, plainspoken recount of trips to Mexico City, Hawaii, Canada, Egypt, Israel, Madrid, Rome, Athens, Paris, and London--locales that may have changed from decades ago-- sparking renewed inspiration for any reader bitten by the travel bug today.
"Travels with Dean and Irene" serves as the first installment of the Hagen couple's many travels, covering only a part of what they have seen and have been enriched by.
