The strategic alliance between Franklin Junction and Dine Brands paves the way for IHOP and Applebee's to expand their global presence in markets outside of their traditional brick-and-mortar locations, in selected international markets. This agreement will initially introduce Dine Brands into new markets in Japan, the Netherlands, France, and Belgium. By leveraging Franklin Junction's cutting-edge technology and expertise, IHOP and Applebee's will be introduced as virtual restaurants in key international markets, with the first launch set to take place in Japan by Q4 of 2023.
The Host Kitchen platform, pioneered by Franklin Junction, enables restaurant brands access to capital-free expansion in new markets as virtual restaurants, whereby orders are produced locally by Franklin Junction’s fulfillment partners. This collaboration will enable IHOP and Applebee's to reach new guests and cater to the evolving demands of the global dining landscape.
