PHOENIX, Oct. 12, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Diplomatic Corps of Arizona's (DCAZ) 32nd annual Ambassadors' Ball, November 19, 2022, will bring together diplomats from around the world to convene and honor the 2022 Ambassador of the Year, Dr. Douglas Jackson, President & CEO of Project C.U.R.E.
Originally founded 35 years ago in a garage in the Colorado mountains, Project C.U.R.E. is now the world's largest distributor of donated medical supplies, equipment, and services to doctors and nurses serving the sick and dying in more than 135 countries.
In addition to leading Project C.U.R.E. for the past 25 years, Dr. Jackson serves on a number of Boards of Directors and has taught at the university level. "I am grateful to the Diplomatic Corps of Arizona for this recognition," said Dr. Jackson. "We have an incredible opportunity to work with great people on a mission to save lives and change the world. This celebration of our team as Ambassador of the Year is something we will all cherish."
"It is a great honor for the Diplomatic Corps of Arizona to acknowledge the years of great human endeavor and humility in which Dr. Douglas Jackson has brought life to the world through his work with Project C.U.R.E.," said The Honorable Enrique Melendez, Honorary Consul Republic of El Salvador and Executive Director of the Diplomatic Corps of Arizona.
Project C.U.R.E. operates seven distribution warehouses across the U.S., including in the Phoenix metro area. Over 30,000 volunteers work each year to distribute an average of two hundred semi-trucks of medical relief to people around the world. In early 2022, Dr. Jackson and his team were in the news for delivering emergency medical supplies to Ukraine.
"The Arizona Ambassador of the Year Award to be presented to him at this year's Ambassadors' Ball is, without question, deserving and we respect his devotion to helping the underprivileged throughout the world."
Net proceeds from the Ambassadors' Ball benefit the Diplomatic Corps of Arizona Scholarship Fund, which is currently designated for students of Thunderbird School of Global Management at Arizona State University.
