KANSAS CITY, Mo., Aug. 25, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Disabled American Veterans are happy to announce the opening of their newest store: Buy The Pound Thrift Store! This store, owned and operated by the Disabled American Veterans, is a unique way to shop thrift. Items are placed in bins throughout the store and customers are encouraged to treasure hunt through the bins. When customers are ready to purchase their treasures, items are weighed at the register. "Buy The Pound offers a unique way for people to shop. We want to help the local community, resellers and those that shop for family outside of the USA" said General Manager Doug DePew.
Buy The Pound will offer new products throughout the day by rotating the bins. "Several bins will rotate out every 30 minutes in order for us to keep the selection fresh," DePew said. "With this pattern, the whole store will be restocked 2 times a day offering the most product for our customers!" Clothing, shoes, toys, electronics, and décor will be offered by the pound. Books and media will be priced per item. Larger items will be priced individually.
"The Buy The Pound concept is new for the Disabled American Veterans, but we are looking forward to the additional help it will provide to our Veterans as well as offering a new way to shop for the community", said DePew. The Disabled American Veterans organization provides transportation to doctors' appointments for veterans in need, vital socialization opportunities to help transition back to civilian life and help with claims and benefits they have earned through their service.
