Kleyne recently welcomed widely traveled Robert Weir, author of Peace, Justice, Care of Earth and 15 other books to talk about Earth Day and World Water Day and the need for more technology and education to avert a growing world water crisis. "All over the world, there is a problem going on globally with water," said Power of Water® representative Kleyne. "What made life possible on earth is water. Without water there can be no life. Without water there is no economy. What do you think will cause the next wars?" Kleyne asked. "Water. Your breath of life is the atmosphere!" Kleyne asked Weir to clarify the meaning of Earth Day. "Everybody in America is confused about Earth Day," said Water Life Science® lifestyle creator Kleyne.
"Earth Day was the idea of John McConnell," Weir explained. "He wanted to celebrate the vernal equinox and so proclaimed Earth Day to be the first day of spring in the northern hemisphere. McConnell announced it at a San Francisco conference of about 400 people and the first official Earth Day was observed in 1970." Following in the tradition of painter Nicholas Roerich, founder of the Roerich Peace Pact in the 1930s, the late John McConnell was an international peace activist and scientist. McConnell suggested that everyone on earth pause three times a day for one minute each and contemplate peace. Then we would achieve peace worldwide!
Kleyne and Weir discussed the controversy that ensued when an environmental teach-in group used the name for an event but on April 22nd. Kleyne condemned "enemies of tradition" who do more damage than good by confusing people and ruining commemorative occasions for millions worldwide. Shifting to World Water Day, Kleye pointed out that water is the life-giving catalyst for everything. "Like the skin of our bodies," Kleyne said, "the skin of the earth is the soil."
Kleyne and Weir also agreed on the importance of well-maintained reservoirs. "We need reservoirs!" insisted Kleyne. "Reservoirs help you have a job and own a home. Earth needs reservoirs," Kleyne continued. "The technology of reservoirs is so important because it puts moisture in the air and protects water, especially when you're not getting enough rain."
"Water covers 70 percent of our world," added Weir, "It's the only essential element on earth." Yet, one in every three people on earth lives in water-poor countries. That is why celebrations of water and the natural world are so important. "Nature-based celebrations are natural to us," said Weir. "Celebrations help us tap back into the rhythm of a butterfly's wings, the rhythm of a breeze, the rhythm of running water and the oceans, the rhythm of life."
Kleyne lamented the lack of water education and new water technology, citing a host of societal ills as the result. "Diseases are out of control," said Power of Water® leader Kleyne. "Why would that be? It's so because water in the atmosphere is being compromised. Anxiety and depression are a result of dehydration. Cancer is out of control. Blindness is out of control!"
Weir agreed. "I think more clearly when I've consumed a large amount of water each day," Weir concluded.
