DivX Names Brian Way as Chief Executive Officer
Former Dolby Labs patent licensing lead Brian Way has been named as the new CEO of video technology pioneer DivX, LLC
SAN DIEGO, Sept. 3, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- DivX, LLC, a pioneer in digital video technology, today announced that it has appointed Brian Way as the new DivX Chief Executive Officer, effective August 19, 2019.
Commenting on the CEO appointment, Noel Egnatios, General Counsel, stated, "Brian is a natural choice for CEO as DivX targets exciting product opportunities and continues to license its technology to consumer electronics companies and digital media providers. He has been a leader in the digital media space for many years and has significant management experience. Prior to joining DivX, Way spent nearly 25 years in licensing and technology, including the last 17 years at high-tech companies in the San Francisco Bay Area. Most recently, he developed and led the Patent Licensing group at Dolby Laboratories in San Francisco. Prior to Dolby, Way was the chief patent counsel of Altera, a San Jose based chip company, and oversaw IP litigation and licensing at Apple.
