Dogtown Media Returns to Inc. 5000 List of Fastest-Growing Companies in America for 3rd Year in a Row
Dogtown Media has once again earned itself a spot on the annual Inc. 5000 of the Fastest Growing Companies in America. The mobile technology studio grew 184% since 2015, solidifying its third straight year on the prestigious list.
LOS ANGELES, Sept. 18, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Since 1982, Inc. Magazine has set out each year to recognize the fastest-growing private companies in America with its Inc. 5000 list. The prestigious annual guide honors the extraordinary journeys of these organizations and is a testament to their hard work. This year, Dogtown Media, an internationally recognized mobile app developer, returned to the Inc. list for the third year in a row, ranking 2195th overall.
By examining independent small businesses, the Inc. 5000 shines a light on one of the most important and dynamic sectors of the American economy. Many of the list's alumni have moved on to achieve even more meteoric success. Microsoft, Dell, Facebook, LinkedIn, Zillow, Yelp, and Chobani name just a few of the well-known companies who gained their first national exposure as honorees of the Inc. 5000.
"Being featured on the Inc. 5000 for the third year in a row is certainly one of our crowning achievements," said Dogtown CEO and Co-Founder, Marc Fischer. "In 2011, we started out as two guys on a couch coding our app dreams into reality. Since then, we've been fortunate to explore mobile solutions in revolutionary fields such as mHealth and Machine Learning with leading organizations like Google, Citi, and the United Nations. Being recognized by Inc. Magazine for our work is an absolute honor — I can't wait to see where mobile technology takes us next!"
Organizations on the 2019 Inc. 5000 are ranked according to percentage revenue growth from 2015 to 2018. In order to qualify, companies must be U.S.-based, privately held, for-profit, and independent. They also must have been founded and generating revenue by March 31st, 2015. Last but not least, they must meet minimum revenues of $100,000 for 2015 and $2 million for 2018.
"Companies that made the list, on average, have grown sixfold since 2015," explained James Ledbetter, Inc.'s Editor in Chief. "During a stretch when the economy grew around 12 percent, that's a result most businesses can only dream of."
The companies representing the 2019 Inc. 5000 generated a combined $237.7 billion in revenue in 2018. The median three-year growth rate of these organizations was 157.4%. Dogtown Media exceeded this with an astounding three-year growth rate of 184%.
Besides this impressive figure, Dogtown Media is one of only a few companies to have graced the Inc. 5000 list multiple times. "Of the tens of thousands of companies that have applied to the Inc. 5000 over the years, only a fraction have made the list more than once," said Ledbetter. "A mere one in eight have made the list 3 times."
Based in Venice Beach, Dogtown Media is a mobile technology studio that leverages disruptive design strategies and dynamic development to deliver industry-leading apps. To date, the company has created over 200 mobile apps in industries including IoT, Healthcare app development, Artificial Intelligence, and FinTech.
