Dr. Cristina Palmer is currently associated with the University of California, Irvine, Long Beach Memorial Medical Center, and the Long Beach VA Hospital. After earning her undergraduate degree from Villanova University in 2005, Palmer then went on to study medicine at the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Palmer graduated with a doctorate in osteopathic medicine in 2011, and went on to complete a urological surgery residency in Chicago at Cook County Hospital. During her residency, Dr. Palmer mastered endourology in addition to robotic, open, and laparoscopic surgeries. Most recently, Dr. Palmer completed a two-year fellowship under Dr. Gamal Ghoniem, at the University of California, Irvine, which focused primarily on female urology, voiding dysfunction, and pelvic reconstruction.
Dr. Palmer is known for helping patients to deal with a variety of urological conditions, including, pelvic organ prolapses, urinary incontinence, urinary fistulas, and more. There are a variety of treatments which Dr. Palmer uses to help patients, including recommending physical therapy, offering lifestyle modification advice, neuromodulation, surgery, and ThermiVa therapy sessions, which use radiofrequency energy to treat vaginal muscles.
