Through this new website, Dr. Orien Tulp hopes to share his passion for education, research, the industry, and the University of Science, Arts, and Technology (USAT) medical school.
Dr. Orien Tulp is passionate about education and its essential role in the world. As his mother always said, "There may be many disappointments in life; never let education be one of them."
After earning a BS, MS, and Ph.D. from the University of Vermont, Dr. Orien Tulp conducted post-graduate studies sponsored by the National Institutes of Health, which focused on nutrition, endocrinology, and metabolism.
He is also a career military veteran, graduating from the Vermont Military Academy.
Throughout his career, Dr. Orien Tulp has served in academic and leadership roles, including as a professor at Drexel University in Philadelphia and, for almost four decades, at the University of Science, Arts, and Technology in Montserrat.
He has lectured on many topics, conducted extensive research on metabolism, diabetes, and obesity, and has written hundreds of scientific book chapters, abstracts, and papers. He was also one of the first contributors to the new journal Academia Biology, launched in 2023.
The University of Science, Arts, and Technology is a private medical school located in Montserrat. It admits foreign and domestic students and some of its graduates practice in the United States and worldwide.
