Dr. Tiffany Tello Joins APEX Dermatology Group
DENVER (PRWEB) July 24, 2018 -- Dr. Tiffany Tello, a board-certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained dermatologic surgeon, begins seeing patients July 25 at APEX Dermatology Group in Denver. APEX Dermatology patients will now have the convenience of choosing Mohs micrographic surgery as a treatment option at the Denver office.
Dr. Tello graduated magna cum laude from the University of Denver with a bachelor’s degree in biology. She earned her medical degree from the University of Colorado, where she was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society and received several awards for her research. She completed her dermatology residency training at the top-ranked University of California, San Francisco and stayed on to complete fellowship training in Mohs micrographic surgery, facial reconstructive surgery, and laser and cosmetic surgery.
She has published numerous peer-reviewed journal articles, several textbook chapters, and has presented her research at national and international meetings. She is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, American College of Mohs Surgery, and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery.
Dr. Tello specializes in Mohs micrographic surgery and reconstructive surgery for the treatment of skin cancer. Mohs surgery is the most effective treatment for most types of skin cancer. The Mohs procedure involves surgically removing the cancer layer by layer and examining the tissue under a microscope until healthy, cancer-free tissue around the tumor is reached (commonly referred to as clear margins). Fellowship--trained Mohs surgeons are trained as a cancer surgeon, pathologist, and reconstructive surgeon. Mohs surgery has the highest success rate of all treatments for skin cancer, up to 99 percent.
Dr. Tello also has advanced training in cosmetic dermatology and laser procedures. In addition to procedural dermatology, Dr. Tello sees general dermatology patients with skin conditions including acne, rosacea and eczema.

After living in San Francisco for the past 5 years, Dr. Tello is delighted to move back to Denver and join Apex Dermatology. In her free time she can be found skiing, hiking, spending time outdoors with her yellow lab, and enjoying her husband’s vegan cooking. In the community, Dr. Tello has organized several skin cancer screening events and serves as medical staff for the Send It Foundation, a nonprofit organization providing outdoor adventures for young adults battling cancer.
