Driven Technologies of Boulder, Colorado, wows AGAIN with their new e-bike drive system
BOULDER, Colo. (PRWEB) June 21, 2023 -- The Orbit Drive is a tiny, rotating ball-like mechanism. This ball, motors, and electronics fit neatly within common q-factors and can be attached to the e-bike frame using existing bolt patterns. The Orbit Drive is completely enclosed with maintenance intervals set to once every 10,000 miles.
Advantages of the Orbit Drive to the rider include a smoother ride-experience: simply set the pace in automatic mode and the stepless gearing automatically adjusts speed and the assist motor adds power when needed. If desired, the rider can also use our manual mode, shifting through gears as they would with a legacy bike. The assist can be as high as 90Nm with delivery in a few milliseconds. Riders can change their cadence or torque on the fly with the motor responding in kind. Greater battery range and regenerative braking are also included.
e-Bike manufacturers and fleet-bike operators will also appreciate Orbit Drive advantages. Since this is an all-in-one system, there is no need to cobble-together a drive system from several different manufacturers. The system weight is 4.6kg, and again includes all gears, all electronics, and all power delivery to the rear wheel. Pricing is competitive and those long maintenance intervals (on par with hybrid autos) will give OEMs and fleet-operators the confidence of knowing their bikes are up and running.
Driven will offer three variations of the Orbit Drive to our customers.
1. Direct Drive - this configuration uses a shaft drive to deliver power from the Orbit Drive to the back wheel. This is our most efficient unit and it is fully enclosed.
2. Chain Drive - the Orbit Drive with a chain, partially enclosed.
3. Belt Drive - the Orbit Drive with a belt, partially enclosed.
Driven will be displaying the Orbit Drive at the upcoming Eurobike show
in Frankfurt, Germany beginning on June 21st, 2023.
