ELYRIA, Ohio, Oct. 17, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Larry Harrison, VP of Business Development at EMC Precision in Elyria, OH, has been awarded the prominent Gold Micrometer Award by the Precision Machined Products Association (PMPA) for making significant contributions to the industry during his 40 years of service. Harrison was presented with his Gold Micrometer at the association's 2019 annual meeting held in Las Vegas, NV. Involved in precision machining since 1977, Larry started his career in the machining trade with his first job as a #4 Warner & Swasey operator at American Crucible & Kenco Pump. Not long after, a position at Ohio Screw was offered to Larry to be part of the B&S department where Larry worked for six years, learning under the direction of Ed Imbrogno's Team. Larry learned the importance of working hard every day with the expectation of providing the maximum available output from all machines.
Over the next thirty-four years during his career at EMC Precision, Larry worked hand in hand with the Ohlemacher family. He started his career at EMC as a machinist and enjoyed improving processes that soon led to an Engineering position. As a Manufacturing Engineer, he helped develop and install new technology and processes that continued to keep EMC in the forefront of technological advancement. Larry's career has been about change, watching and participating in an industrial revolution that had changes from Drafting Boards to CAD systems, from mechanical machines to CNC equipment, from layout plates to CMM's, from made in America to a global market, from dirty floors and clutter to 6S and lean. Larry's drive for excellence has given him the opportunity to actively drive, and install changes over the last forty-two years. As a member of the strategic planning team, Larry is an active participant in planning the future of EMC, and he continues to work with CEO, Jeff Ohlemacher & Team to make EMC the best precision machining company in the world, and to have "The Best Employees, in the Best Job They've Ever Had, at the Best Place They've Ever Worked!.
Larry is happily married to Beth for thirty-three years and they reside in Sheffield Lake, Ohio. Larry has three children Rana, Noah (Shawna), Nick (Jennifer), and four grandchildren Dominic, Ian, Franklin, and Marley.
