The ESS Art Contest is an annual contest open to all K-12 public and charter school students across the country. Vivienne Wu is an art teacher at 533 Art Studio in Baton Rouge, LA, who heard about the ESS Art Contest from one of her student’s parents. This year, two of her local students, Sherry Yang and Jacob Li, and a virtual student, Bryce Cao, entered this contest and won each of their respective grade groups. In addition to the three winners this year, Vivienne had two local East Baton Rouge Parish School System K-2 and 6-8 grade group winners in 2022. Vivienne encourages her students to unleash their imagination to create unique art pieces. Through her approach to growing students from as early as four years old, Vivienne has watched these students grow up in their art and earn multiple awards at state and national levels.
“As an art teacher, my students' recognition is definitely the most pride-worthy thing for me. Their wins are also recognition of my teaching efforts and will inspire me to continue fostering their creativity and passion for art,” said Vivienne Wu. “It's not just about winning awards, every bit of progress they make serves as my motivation to stay committed to my loved work as an art teacher.”
ESS has held the art contest for five years, giving over $4,000 to winning students and their schools. Giving back to the community is a mainstay of our corporate philosophy. ESS enjoys holding the annual art contest to support students in their respective schools and give back to the communities that help grow the next generation. The 2024 Art Contest will open in January when ESS will announce our theme and begin accepting submissions.
