EcoSystems Teams with BH Management and Boulder Ridge to Retrofit 144 Apartments in Multifamily Water Conservation Effort
DES (PRWEB) February 20, 2019 -- EcoSystems, an industry leader in designing and implementing water conservation programs, announced today that they have achieved notable savings for Boulder Ridge, a one and two-bedroom multifamily apartment community located in West Des Moines, Iowa. Partnered with property owner BH Management, their conservation efforts have saved the community approximately four million gallons of water and more than $42,000 annually, a 39 percent reduction in annual water usage.
The conservation efforts implemented by Boulder Ridge, in partnership with EcoSystems, included 276 bathroom retrofits in nine days, ridding the complex of old and wasteful toilets, showerheads and aerators and replacing them with ultra high-efficiency 0.8 GPF Niagara Stealth toilets, water-saving fixtures, and carbon monoxide detectors. “EcoSystems’ efficient solutions provide us with an immediate ROI, typically saving 30-50 percent on water and sewer bills and we’re seeing returns in less than 18 months,” explained Mike Watkins, Director of Construction at BH Management.
“We are always looking for ways to create value for our tenants and our properties with minimal interruption, all while having a positive impact on the environment. EcoSystems has been a critical partner in helping us achieve that,” added Watkins.
EcoSystems is currently executing a national retrofit program in partnership with BH Management on more than 57 properties located across the U.S. “We are thrilled to partner with BH Management and Boulder Ridge to protect Des Moines' most precious resource, while delivering financial upside to one of the largest multifamily management companies in the nation,” said Richard Lamondin, CEO and co-founder of EcoSystems. “It’s our hope that more property owners across Iowa begin implementing multifamily water conservation efforts in their buildings—understanding the benefits for both business and the environment.”
