Electronic Sports (eSports) Facility to Open in West Suburban Chicago
Scrims chooses former Family Video location in Lisle, Illinois to launch its eSports business. It will be the first of its kind in the area and be geared heavily toward scholastic competitions.
LISLE, Ill., July 21, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Scrims Center LLC ("Scrims") is pleased to announce it has entered into a lease for 6,065 square feet of retail space at 2000 Ogden Avenue, Lisle for a brand new esports gaming center. It will be the first of its kind in the west suburbs that will be open to the general public.
Scrims will feature over 100 gaming stations, including a mix of high-end gaming PCs and consoles. Gamers will be able to play hundreds of game titles. Casual gamers of all skill levels can gather with friends to game and enjoy Scrims' lounge and food and beverage options. Competitive gamers will have access to exclusive online tournaments, competing against players in other gaming centers throughout the world. With the explosion of demand for esports at the high school and college levels, this location will cater to the scholastic competitions as well as offer a venue for groups and teams to use for training and tournaments. Scrims will also welcome streamers and have computers available for coding classes and other STEM instruction.
2000 Ogden Avenue, a former Family Video store, is ideally situated at the corner of Ogden avenue and Yackley Road in Lisle, Illinois. Being less than 2 miles from the artery of I-355 and I-88, this location will offer easy access from many western suburbs of Chicago. It is in close proximity to multiple high schools and colleges.
