Emil Vicale began his career as the Product Design and Development Director for Habitat International and Architectural Supplements in New York City.
In 1990, he started his own design firm, BBC Design Group. BBC designs and develops products and solutions in the consumer product, clothing, furniture, weapons, and other industries. In the mid-to-late 90's, Emil Vicale was one of the first companies to use and offer 3D printing services.

Within that year, Vicale developed the first of its kind Conceal Carry clothing for BlackStarOps.com, a design that went on to create a new industry for concealment clothing. He launched the first of its kind Custom Action Figure business that makes custom action figures that look, talk, and dress like the consumer, which presently still stands as a thriving business, making HeroBuilders, the premiere maker of Custom Action Figures.
In 2006, Cooper & Schindler used HeroBuilders and its 3D printing services as a case study in their widely-used college text book, Marketing Research from McGraw-Hill.
In 2012, the site received recognition in the form of the MIT MC-500 top 500 mass customization websites for Vicale’s on-demand website, vicale.com.
Vicale has appeared on CNN, Fox News, and CNBC, and other news channels, both locally and globally, such as Reuters, and Associated Press. His products have appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Nickelodeon, Sci-Fi TV, CSI: NY, VH1, MTV, to name a few, as well as in the films, Mama’s Boy and Switchmas.
