Exclusive 2-day Event Planning Certificate Available to All Students in Multi-City Tour
In the Event Planner Certificate Course students learn how to get started in a career as a professional event planner.
CHICAGO, Sept. 4, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Starting Fall 2018, the exclusive Event Planning Certificate Program will be offered as a consecutive multi-city tour. Participants can expect to learn how to plan successful events from start to finish.
The event planning certificate was offered for the first time to multiple cities in Chicago during the Fall 2009 semester to graduating college seniors in Chicago, Atlanta, and Los Angeles to help students build their hospitality management portfolios. The event program teaches students how to conduct event research, deliver consultations, prepare contracts, fundraising, event marketing, and negotiation techniques for vendors and venues. The program consists of 16 continuing education hours, equal to two credit hours during the course.
"The Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts that the meeting and event planning industry will see a significant increase in jobs over the next decade. I want to help students of all ages get these jobs by preparing them with the skills employers expect from them," said Helena Paschal, teacher and program director of the Correlations Event Program.
The event planning certificate program is meant to be an affordable and timely option for students interested in earning a certificate to gain leverage in the hospitality industry.
Students will apply the class training into a homework assignment and complete the course with a final assessment. The program also includes a focus on entrepreneurship, as many event planners aspire to start their own businesses, according to Paschal.
No prerequisites are required to enroll in the event planning program, "students shouldn't be excluded due to a lack of training or experience. They deserve opportunities to learn how to prepare for positions that value their creativity and organizational skills," said Paschal.
Since the course began, thousands of students have been awarded their event planning certificate, with 500 more students expecting to earn their certificate by the end of the year. The course is offered online for students unable to make it to the scheduled cities. The course is eligible for tuition reimbursement and it is tax deductible as continuing education. Interested participants can enroll on the website http://www.correlationsllc.com.
