Extreme Energy Solutions Brand Ambassadors/Drivers Score Positive Marks at ESW 2018
Extreme Energy Solutions Marketing Partners ARCA/DIRT Car Driver Tommy Vigh Jr., Hall of Famer DIRT Car Modified Driver Jeff Heotlzer and DIRT Car Sportsman Driver Connor Otten put up a good fight during Eastern States Weekend 2018 race event, scoring some positive marks on the board and leaving final impressions at the track known as "The Hard Clay," Orange County Fair Speedway, closing the season on a high note.
MIDDLETOWN, N.Y., Nov. 6, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The trio of Extreme Energy Solutions Brand Ambassadors/Drivers were set to take to the field during Eastern States Weekend 2018 at Orange County Fair Speedway, Middletown, NY (Oct. 19-21). The first day of competitive events brought out the pair of Extreme Energy Solutions Sportsman Drivers, Tommy Vigh Jr. and Connor Otten. Both drivers took time during time trials, with Otten scoring 8th fastest time out of 90+ cars to show up on the Friday in the #11 SMART Emissions Reducer by Extreme Energy Solutions machine. While in qualifying position for a spot in main feature late race during the B Main, late lap contact with another driver troubles put Otten out of the running.
Vigh however, behind the wheel of the H2O Energy Flow by Extreme Energy Solutions Sportsman ride, raced his way into the B Main, and picked up the last qualifying spot, allowing him to move up to the final starting position in the day's 50 Lap Sportsman Division Contest. Vigh came from a dead last position to finishing 5th during the bargain, which put Vigh also in contention and finally winning the Hard Charger Award.

Vigh would look to continue the momentum on Saturday, where he was behind the wheel of the #92 Extreme Kleaner by Extreme Energy Solutions Small Block Modified. Vigh found himself settling for 47th in time trials, out of a field of almost 80+ cars that showed up for their chance into the big 100 lap showdown. Vigh would race himself into a starting position in the 25 lap B Main Race, starting again from the tail of the pack and chased down a top 10 place finish; while an awesome run in the B Main, fell short of a qualifying position into the 100 lap feature. It was Tommy Vigh Jr.'s first Eastern States Weekend Small Block Modified run, where the driver, chassis, marketing partner, and fresh new engine were combined together for their chance to make a good showing.
"We did good considering it was the first time we ran against teams and drivers like Brett Hearn and Kenny Tremont. It was a great experience and we will look to try it again next year," added Vigh.
Another big surprise and upset to the competition was made by Jeff Heotzler, Driver of the #j17 Extreme Energy Solutions/Four Star Big Block Modified. The Jeffer had picked up the Pole for Sunday's 200 lap contest; and was moved to the Outside Pole after only Brett Hearn bumped the Hall of Fame driver by fractions of a second. The pair would start on the front line of the 200. Heotzler stayed within the top three during the entire duration of his running until engine failure would put the popular #j17 and the Jeffer behind pit wall.
"Wish we could have done better. The car seemed to work well however we knew the power plant had an expiration date as it was the same engine we ran all season long., we were just hoping to get another 150 laps out of it or so," contributed Heotzler.

The Extreme Energy Solutions Brand Ambassadors-Drivers has similar mixed reviews throughout the 2018 season campaign. Vigh finished 5th in points for his Sportsman Division run, adding to the stats a multitude of top 5 and top 10 finishes. Vigh also took home the accolade supported by the fans, The Hard Clay Magazine, and by OCFS as the Most Popular Sportsman Driver of the Year.
Vigh spent some time behind the wheel in the Small Block Modified Division, with just a few race events on the docket. Vigh made a bit of a splash this season when he made his ARCA Debut, finishing 15th (Madison); 12th (Springfield); and 13th (DuQuoin) respectfully, setting the stage toward a 2019 ARCA season.
Heotzler logged on the books two victory lane visits, adding his 52nd and 53rd win at OCFS to his Hall of Fame resume. Heotzler would run into some troubles on the track after unwanted contact would end his campaign on a few nights of racing. This put Heotzler 14th in point standings.
Otten was out for half of the season after being diagnosed with a concussion after a horrendous mid-season wreck sidelined the Sophomore driver for half of 2018. Otten made strong showings at some of the Short Track Super Series race events and an impressive start at ESW 2018.
