F&D Reports Releases Lidl Private Company Overview
GREAT NECK, NY (PRWEB) November 27, 2018 -- Industry-leading retail consulting firm Information Clearinghouse, Inc. (ICI), through its F&D Reports division, has announced the release of its Lidl US Private Company Overview (PCO).
Lidl arrived in the U.S. in June 2017, opening 20 stores in Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina; its initial plans called for as many as 100 stores by the end of the summer of 2018. At the outset, it appeared the Company was the threat it was touted to be, but like many bright shiny objects, the luster quickly wore off. Our analysis examines what went wrong with the launch and recent steps the Company has taken to propel the brand forward. The report also includes a map of the Company’s store concentrations and the proposed acquisition of 26 Best Yet Market stores located mostly in New York.
Currently standing at 59 stores, Lidl is on track to hit its revised estimate of opening about 20 stores in 2018. The Company has kept its future store expansion plans close to the vest, but F&D Reports has already confirmed the specific locations of several dozen stores scheduled to open next year. Detailed information on all of Lidl’s confirmed future store openings (and 6,000+ other retail openings occurring through 2019) is currently available via F&D Reports’/Creditntell’s Future Store Openings/Closings database.
Commenting on the analysis, ICI CEO Lawrence Sarf stated, “Lidl came to the U.S. with ambitious growth plans, only to have to tap the brakes to avoid making the ‘Fresh N Easy’ mistake their fellow European company Tesco had made a couple years prior. They now believe they have found the right pace and the right footprint to deliver on a revised plan while also trying to reverse some early real estate blunders. Anyone with an interest in Lidl will find our brand new Private Company Overview a must read.”
