Fall Festival Delights Pine Run Retirement Community Residents, Visitors

Held Saturday, Oct. 5 on Pine Run's 43-acre campus on Ferry Road in Doylestown Township, the annual event was organized and planned by the retirement community's residents, including the Men's Club which directed traffic, and the Incredible Edible Bakers which tempted the crowds with homemade treats.
The Fall Festival offered something for everyone. Almost 30 Bucks County artisans displayed and sold their original designs and creations. Holiday shoppers discovered a wide range of gifts for sale, including hand-crafted jewelry, ornaments, soaps, custom handbags, doll clothes, home accessories and soft knit baby sweaters and baby blankets.
Children enjoyed free attractions, including face painting, pumpkin decorating, a petting zoo, and a photo booth. They especially gravitated to the Craft Barn to gather around the scenic model train village. Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts also helped festival-goers create small trimaran sailboats for tabletop races. Known as The Raingutter Regatta, this wind-powered Scouting activity brought a little spirited competition to the day.
