Famed Asherwood Estate Listed by Global Real Estate Firm
INDIANAPOLIS (PRWEB) March 14, 2019 -- Shopping mall mogul Mel Simon’s former Indianapolis-area estate, donated to the non-profit founded by performer Michael Feinstein in 2017, is now listed for sale by global real estate firm.
The Songbook Foundation previously retained Guernsey’s Auction House to manage the sale of the contents within the estate and has now appointed international real estate services firm, Avison Young, as the exclusive sales listing agent for the 107-acre complex, known as Asherwood.
“We invested a lot of time and effort in evaluating options to maximize the potential of this property, not only for our organization but for the surrounding community,” the foundation’s executive director Chris Lewis said in a statement. “We want to honor this generous gift by opening the opportunity to prospective buyers who are able to elevate the grounds beyond our capabilities.”
Located in Carmel Ind., the property boasts a 50,000 square-foot (sf) mansion, an 8,000 sf golf clubhouse, a 6,000 sf guest residence, and a regulation nine-hole golf course with a picturesque par-3 designed by noted golf course architect Steve Smyers.
Stan Burton, an associate in Avison Young’s Indianapolis office, will lead the efforts of coordinating the sale of the Asherwood Estate.
