Attorneys Jessica Defino and Lisa Giese have both made tremendous strides in the legal profession in the last month, and they continue to demonstrate the passion and commitment that the firm instills in its everyday practice. Jessica Defino, an associate attorney with MNGR since its inception, has been elected president of the DuPage County Chapter of the Justinian Society of Lawyers. Attorney Defino was sworn in as President by Judge Michael Reidy on May 19, 2022. The Justinian Society of Lawyers believes in strengthening relationships among its members and enhancing the legal profession as a whole. As president, Jessica Defino looks forward to restoring several of the society's events and programs that were put on pause due to the pandemic, such as the Justinian Socials and the Society's scholarship program.
Attorney Defino has invested a substantial amount of her time contributing to the betterment of numerous professional associations. Even before being admitted to the Illinois State Bar, Jessica Defino was involved with the Justinian Society as a law student, and she has also been actively involved in the DuPage County Bar Association throughout her career, currently serving on its Board of Directors as well as various committees. A certified mediator and guardian ad litem, Attorney Defino serves family law clients from MNGR's Wheaton and Geneva offices.
The DuPage Association of Women Lawyers (DAWL) has recognized Lisa M. Giese as their 2022 Inspirational Woman of the Year. DAWL is a diverse legal association comprised of professionals who believe in advancing the legal profession, encouraging camaraderie, supporting one another, and promoting honor and dignity. Each year, DAWL nominates a female lawyer within the DuPage County area who exhibits courage, strength, dignity, and compassion throughout all areas of her career and personal life.
Lisa Giese, a founding partner and family law attorney with MNGR, served on the DAWL Board of Directors from 2008 to 2012. She was presented with the highly coveted 2022 Inspirational Woman of the Year award by President Melissa Kuffel at the Arrowhead Golf Club in Wheaton, Illinois on May 26, 2022. Lisa is also a member of the Kane County Bar Association, DuPage County Bar Association, and the Illinois State Bar Association. Attorney Giese is a trained guardian ad litem who compassionately advocates for families facing challenging legal matters, including cases involving divorce, parenting time, child support, and orders of protection.
